Distinctly different assessment

tools for different purposes

1. Competency-based, which looks to assess current gaps in an individual’s capacity to perform specific tasks, so goals can be set to increase effectiveness.  Some areas that could be measured are: leadership, management, communication, stress, change management, goal-setting and time management.

2. Style-based, which tends to look at where one is positioned on a quadrant (4 different styles) and where one needs to adjust their style to best suit their current context.  These types of assessment are extremely helpful by increasing self-awareness.  Often we don’t realise that we fit into a typical style and there are greater repertoire of options available to us.

3. Organisation-based, gives an aggregate score of an organisation, which is based on the collective perspectives of the employees.  The score can then be used to address strategic issues.  It can address issues such as, training needs, cultural health, customer service standards and operational excellence.

There is also the effective option, with some of the tools, of using an online 360 degree process.  The 360 degree option utilizes the perspective of the participant (leader), direct manager/supervisor and the leader’s colleagues.  Completing this online allows for a pdf printout to be sent to the leader, which summarizes the results and allows for anonymity.  If you would like any assistance in finding the appropriate resource to enhance your growth as a leader, then simply contact me and let me know your needs, and I will help point you in the right direction.
